As an Account Representative, you will play a crucial role in delivering outstanding customer support to address and resolve customer needs effectively. Your responsibilities will drive revenue growth by identifying opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction. This position will generate quotations and follow up through various communication methods, as well as expedite orders to ensure on time delivery. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Interact daily with a large customer base on contractual and transactional business 
  • Ensures all inquiries are quoted accurately in a timely manner to meet customer needs 
  • Processes customer orders, makes sales calls, and work to establish relationships with customers
  • Manages full cycle customer orders from creation through delivery 
  • Follows up on all orders and quotations to secure repeat business 
  • Maximizes the opportunity to build relationships with previously assigned and new customers 
  • Works with internal and external partners to execute account development plans
  • Understands and effectively incorporates Ryerson' business goals and concepts to achieve sales and profitability 
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • ​​​​​​Bachelor’s degree or college diploma preferred 
  • 3-5 years of customer service, sales and metal industry experience is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) is required
  • SAP and Salesforce experience is an asset 
  • Excellent professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Positive attitude, competitive, goal-oriented, driven with a passion to excel
  • Flexible to a rapidly changing environment and solutions-oriented mindset
