As a Customer Engagement Specialist for our Fabrication team, you will play a pivotal role be responsible for maintaining and growing business with assigned, established customers, and for securing and growing business you by ensuring that orders are processed accurately and efficiently with minimal assistance. Your expertise will help us develop a steady customer base, and your proactive approach will see you making impactful in-person sales calls.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data in order to estimate the time, money, materials, and labor required to manufacture metal products and assemblies
  • Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time and raw material, equipment, and labor expenses
  • Provide pre-sales technical expertise to the sales team and customers during the sales process
  • Provide technical input into bid proposals, projects and technical documents within the sales process and identifies additional sales opportunities with existing customers
  • Assists in creating account development plans
  • Works with service center and regional sales/product management to develop quotations and contract proposals that are responsive to customer needs and result in profitable sales for Ryerson
  • Performs inventory management for customer-specific material
  • Communicates with operations team and may serve as a production meeting representative
  • Occasional face-to-face customer interaction and moderate authority/opportunity to set and negotiate product/service terms

Requirements

  • High School diploma required, Bachelor's Degree is preferred
  • 3-5 years prior sales or industry experience 
  • 3-5 years estimating/detailing experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of product offerings, ERP systems, and markets served
  • General understanding of metal processes and products
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Minimal travel required.
