As a Senior Cost Accountant at Ryerson, you will have heavy involvement in the monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, conducting research, and leading projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Analyze and correct product cost and price margin issues
  • Maintain accurate inventory, production, and sales order reviews and support year-end audits
  • Monitor average cost variances
  • Analyze and correct inventory valuations
  • Assist plants in researching and resolving financial issues
  • Assist in internal management reporting and analysis
  • Work on other special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5 years plus years of Accounting or Inventory experience (preferred in manufacturing or warehouse)
  • Understanding of inventory accounting methods (FIFO, LIFO, weighted average)
  • CPA preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Knowledge of SAP a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and detailed orientated
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

 

Salary: $88,557 - $105,696 annually. A starting salary higher than $88,557 annually is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
