As a Manufacturing Tech at Ryerson, you are responsible for following all safety and quality process and procedures. You will aid the production work cells as needed. This is an entry-level position where you will learn the process and procedures necessary to produce conforming products. 

Roles and Responsibilities

• Take direction from the department lead, working in priority order
• Stage work area to work in a safe and efficient manner
• Handling and unloading material with care and without damaging product 
• Itemize, label, organize and stage parts by work order and secondary operation
• Use basic hand tools 
• Preform secondary operations as needed; edge round, grind, form, roll, PEM nuts, and/or machining
• Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

• Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
• Minimum 1 year of similar job experience preferred
• Regular attendance
• Basic math skills
• Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer
• Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility
• Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding and new hire training

Salary $17-$23 Hourly. A starting salary higher than $17 hourly is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
