As a Welder at Apogee Steel Fabrication, a Ryerson Family of Companies, you will be responsible for prepping and welding various parts from commerical kitchen equipment to roof hatches. 

This position is 1st shift. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 6:00am to 3:00pm. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Applies appropriate welding and fabrication processes to metals such as carbon steel, stainless and aluminum
  • Works according to the layouts, work orders and blueprints provided
  • Lay out and mark weld points on parts or sub-assemblies. Position pieces to be welded into jigs and fixtures using measuring equipment and hand tools 
  • Inspects completed work for confrormance to specifications 
  • Observes all safety practices and procedures 
  • Packaging of material to customer requirements
  • Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material as needed
  • Proper completion work order confirmation in SAP 
  • All other duties as assigned 

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED required 
  • Minimum 3 years of similar job experience required 
  • MIG and TIG welding experience required 
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience is an asset
  • Mathematical accumen is required
  • Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer
  • Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility
