As a Quality Inspector at Laserflex, a Ryerson family of companies, you will be responsible for meeting customer-specific quality requirements and reporting while minimizing customer returns.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Helps with the implementation and auditing of the ISO 9000 family of Quality Management Systems.
- Aids job training programs in the facility to ensure compliance
- Completes quality inspections on customer orders on a daily basis
- Ensures measurement device and equipment calibration
- Investigate Customer Claims ensuring resolution
- Completes PPAPs (Production Part Approval Process) and First Article Inspections involving the reading of Part Drawings and documenting findings; following AIAG methodology
- Implements corrective and preventive action processes ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction; utilizes quality toolbox for root cause analysis/corrective action
- Gathers SPC data on key processing equipment
- Develops Quality Continuous Improvement Processes to better serve our customers
- Champion of Environmental, Health and Safety – joint role with facility operations supervisor (audits, reporting accidents, facilitating training, etc)

Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 – 3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in the metals industry is preferred
- Some blueprint reading experience is an asset
- Knowledge of coordinate measuring machines (Faro, Roamer, etc) is a plus
- Outstanding computer skills with the ability to apply knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Solid experience creating reports and manipulating data using database applications
- Excellent communication, both oral and written, and interpersonal skills
- Exercises appropriate discretion and good judgment in completing job duties and maintaining confidential information
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers
- Demonstrated ability to perform within a team environment and add to the overall success of the team
