As a Sales Manager at Norlen Inc, a Ryerson family of companies, you will be responsible for acquiring and maintaining profitable customer relationships, as well as leading new product development and ongoing production through effective communication between Norlen and our customers. This is a fast-paced and high-energy position that requires previous sales experience, a proven track record of delivering profitable growth, and the ability to lead and develop Norlen's sales team. You will be a member of Norlen's Management Team and will have responsibilities related to reporting, forecasting, and customer management.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Increase Norlen’s customer book of business through maintenance of current customers and acquisition of new customers to increase quote and order volume profitably
  • Lead Norlen’s sales team with regular direction, metrics, and disciplined regular follow-up
  • Develop sales skills to increase the effectiveness of Norlen’s sales team
  • Manage implementation of critical systems and tools for customer management (CRM) and lead development
  • Manage pricing to ensure that Norlen is set up to win orders profitably
  • Report key sales metrics for quote and order volume, customer call frequency, and other key KPIs to help increase sales
  • Work closely with Norlen’s Sales Director to improve information sharing and coordinate activities between the Sales, Engineering, Quality, and Production teams
  • Work closely with Operations to ensure that customer orders are set up for success, to ensure quality products are produced the first time
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 Years of successful experience in a Metal Fabrication Sales environment
  • 3 Years experience with direct customer responsibility; Key account/large volume customer responsibility preferred
  • Previous experience managing sales teams, systems, and software tools
  • Previous experience selling additional capabilities is preferred (welding, machining, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of geometry, strong math skills, and a technical aptitude
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time
