As a Senior Accountant at Ryerson, you will play a pivotal role in our Corporate Accounting team, where your expertise will be instrumental in shaping our financial landscape. You will be involved in preparing comprehensive financial statements, assisting with the month-end close process, and driving improvements in our accounting procedures. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, you will collaborate closely with members of our corporate functional departments to prepare insightful reports that support strategic decision-making.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Preparation of financial statements and monthly financial statement consolidation
• Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations
• Assist with technical accounting matters, significant accounting transactions, and memos as assigned
• Assist with external auditors during annual audit and quarterly review processes
• Assist in internal management reporting and analysis
• Assist with external reporting including preparation of SEC filings and footnote disclosures
• Work on other special projects, as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of accounting experience (public accounting experience preferred)
• CPA preferred
• Strong understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and SEC disclosure and reporting requirements
• OneStream experience preferred
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Knowledge of SAP a plus
• Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external partners

Salary: $86,000-$110,000 annually. A starting salary higher than $86,000 annually is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
